About WPHC

Welcome to Wolf Pack Hockey Club (WPHC) of Hoffman Estates, IL, established in 2006. We are a Tier III club playing in the Northwest Hockey League (NWHL), as well as a Tier II club playing in Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL).

In our short existence, Wolf Pack Hockey Club has become one of the largest participants in the Northwest Hockey League.  We’ve achieved this tremendous growth through increased player registration numbers, as well as the continued growth of existing players moving up, and a focus on 5 skill advancement.

All of this has helped us build new programming based on the need for new levels for the more advanced players with the start of ourNIHL program. Adding additional programs helps focused and skilled players to continue to play at Wolf Pack advancing their hockey career. Wolf Pack’s philosophy is a driving force along with our coaching methods, wide range of programming and experienced coaches that keep our players striving to improve. Our focus on the 5 skill advancement and strong skill oriented sessions allows focused players to achieve their goals of playing NIHL.

With a need to advance our more skilled players, the 2010-11 season, started our first and probationary year at NIHL. Wolf Pack fielded three teams that were placed at the Silver level, and each team finished in the top 5 of the top tier, two won the President's Cup, and one finished second in the Blackhawk Cup.  Following the 2010-2011 inaugural season, the Wolf Pack Hockey Club was approved a full Tier II program and has continued growth into a large Tier II club fielding teams at every level. The 2013-14 season brought such a show of talent and growth that we were able to add a third team at several levels with great success.

Wolf Pack’s success is based on our strong focus and growth with our developmental program. Wolf Pack Hockey Club has established a development philosophy that depends upon and prides itself on internal growth by providing multiple levels of player development.  At Wolf Pack, the youngest hockey fans begin in our developmental program that is responsible for starting hundreds of new hockey players. We have established a solid foundation recognized as one of the leading places to start hockey, in the country - by USA Hockey.

Wolf Pack's successful hockey program starts with our focused and growth oriented developmental program. Our development philosophy, recognized by USA Hockey, provides multiple levels of player development. This approach develops our youngest hockey fans into hockey players. This solid foundation is now recognized as one of the leading places to realize a young persons' hockey dream.

As players skills advance we provide opportunities to challenge our players through added clinics and camps offered throughout the year. These range from open skate and skill sessions, 3 on 3, dedicated defense clinics and Girls Only clinics, to our acclaimed Goalie Academy and more. We strive to add additional programming as our players needs warrant. As our players needs grow we adapt to help players achieve their goals of improvement.

Our program has grown thanks to a sizeable Hoffman Estates Park District investment in “One Goal” equipment, the continued training of dedicated coaches and a systematic (SUMO) process of development. Our belief that more coaches on ice combined with more ice time creates faster enjoyment and commitment to the sport. Our commitment to our players has helped Wolf Pack loyalty and membership numbers go beyond imaginable estimates.

The Wolf Pack NWHL and NIHL team programs are dedicated to giving passionate players the 5 skill foundation fundamental to game training as well as continued increasing competitive challenges to enable our players to achieve their true potential.
